These terms apply when you use Fridge Catalogue. Plain language, and short on purpose. By creating an account you agree to them.

Using the app

Fridge Catalogue is for keeping track of food in a household. You need an account, and you’re responsible for what happens under it — including keeping your sign-in details to yourself. You must be 13 or older.

Don’t use the app to break the law, to attack or overload the service, or to upload other people’s personal information.

Your household’s content

The items, lists and notes you add stay yours. We store them so the app works and so the other members of your household can see them. We don’t claim ownership of them.

Anyone you invite to your household can see and change everything in it. Invite carefully — that is how sharing is meant to work.

Expiry dates are estimates

This one matters. Expiry dates in the app are estimates, often derived automatically from what an item is and where it’s stored. They are a memory aid, not a food-safety guarantee. Always check the packaging and use your own judgement before eating something. Fridge Catalogue is not responsible for food that spoils, for illness, or for anything thrown away or eaten based on what the app said.

Receipt and barcode scanning

Scanning uses automated systems that get things wrong sometimes — misread items, wrong prices, wrong categories. Review what comes back before saving it. Scanning may be rate-limited to keep costs sane.

Availability

We aim to keep the service running, but it’s provided as-is, without a guaranteed uptime. Features may change or be removed. We may suspend or close accounts that abuse the service.

Ending things

You can delete your account any time from Settings → Account. Doing so removes your personal data; a household’s shared inventory is deleted when its last member leaves. See the privacy policy for detail.

Liability

To the extent the law allows, Fridge Catalogue isn’t liable for indirect or consequential losses arising from your use of the app. Nothing here limits rights you have under Canadian consumer protection law that can’t be limited by agreement.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Alberta and the federal laws of Canada that apply there.
